Members of the NEU teaching union have voted to strike in our area on the following dates:
Due to the expected high number of staff taking part in the strike, we will be able to keep the school open on the proposed strike day for Year 11 only.
Arrangements for students in Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 are as follows:
- Students will use the subject resources to complete work from home.
- Students who are unable to access the portal due to a lack of technology will be provided with paper resources, which will be submitted to their tutors upon return.
- Any FSM students in Years 7 – 10 can collect a packed lunch from reception on Wednesday, 1st February @ 12:00. If you plan on collecting a FSM packed lunch, please fill in this form: https://forms.office.com/e/ALyr6CAVVy
It is unlikely that the industrial action will be called off, but if this were to happen, we will contact you immediately. Employment law allows for staff to change their minds with regard to whether they will strike or not, right up to the day of striking. Therefore, there is a possibility that even on the strike day the situation will change. As we may need to make last-minute changes to the plan, we are asking all parents to keep their eye on communications on Wednesday morning.
If you have any questions or concerns about the alternative arrangements outlined above, please contact us via the school email address admin@castleviewacademy.org.uk.
If the industrial action continues beyond Wednesday, 1st February 2023, we will update all parents via email with an update on our plans for dealing with this.
