Our Vision

Education is a fundamental pillar of society and plays a crucial role in shaping individuals and preparing them for a successful and fulfilling life. In my vision of education, I believe that students who academically achieve to the best of their ability are more likely to go on to be happy and successful. For this to happen, we must have high expectations of all whilst raising aspirations for all and ensuring that classrooms are free from disruption will enable this to happen.

Learning is the most important aspect of any school, but the development of the whole child beyond academia is just as vital to ensure that students can fully function and make a positive contribution to society when they become adults. To enable this to happen we put great care in ensuring that students build character, are given a wide range of opportunities and have an emphasis on their personal development.

In short, we want all our young people to be the best they can be.

Our Values & Ethos

As an organisation, we are values based and expect everyone to work to our core values of determination, ambition and respect.  Alongside these core values students have developed a 'CVA Way' which they expect each other to uphold all of the time.

Our approach is underpinned by a sense of moral purpose and commitment to doing what is right for children and young people, supporting colleagues to achieve excellence and acting with integrity in all our dealings within and beyond the Academy, in the interests of young people everywhere.

We summarise this ethos as Excellence in All We Do. This ethos underpins our core values:

  • Ambition – to achieve the best for ourselves and others
  • Determination – to overcome obstacles and reach success
  • Respect – to treat those around us we want to be treated ourselves
